Response to the Public Consultation on Hate Crime Legislation in Northern Ireland

We submitted a response to the Hate Crime Legislation in Northern Ireland Independent Review’s public consultation, exploring the ways in which the legislation could be improved for trans communities.

Response to the Public Consultation on ‘A New Legal Framework for Abortion Services in Northern Ireland’

We submitted a response to the Northern Ireland Office’s public consultation on ‘a new legal framework for abortion services in Northern Ireland – Implementation of the legal duty under section 9 of the Northern Ireland (Executive Formation etc) Act 2019’. Within, we explored barriers to accessing reproductive healthcare for trans men and non-binary people, and how to include them in the legislation and services.

Shadow Report to the UN Committee on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women

We submitted a shadow report to the CEDAW Committee regarding the experiences of trans women and girls in the UK, and more particularly in Northern Ireland. We will be attending the UK Government’s review by the Committee on the 26th of February in Geneva, and contributing to the Committee’s considerations in the days prior to that.

Public inquiry into Abortion Law in Northern Ireland

We submitted a public response to the UK Women and Equalities Committee’s public inquiry into abortion law in Northern Ireland. This has been published on the UK Parliament’s website.

Consultation on reviewing the Gender Recognition Act 2004 in England and Wales

We submitted a public response to the UK Government Equalities Office’s consultation on legal gender recognition law in England and Wales.
